It’s Camilla’s first day back at work, her daughter’s first day at nursery. But husband Luke is nowhere to be seen. The only trace of him is an unfinished note. Camilla tries to put it out of her mind; there must be a rational explanation. At work, there are welcomes back, and too many distractions. Then it starts. Breaking news: there's a hostage situation developing in London. The police arrive: Luke is caught up in it. But he isn't a hostage. Luke - doting father, successful writer, enthusiastic runner and eternal optimist - is the gunman. What Camilla does next is crucial. Who We Are
Join a new Bookclub founded 40,000 feet up in the air. Imagine, 2 people on a plane who bonded over a love and passion for reading. Thats where One More Chapter Book Club had its origin story. We are a club which just wants readers to enjoy and fall in love with reading again, we don't want to set unrealistic targets for our readers and we are here to understand that everybody needs to digest books in different formats such as ebooks or audio books. We want to focus on inclusion and introducing people to book genres that they might not necessarily always gravitate towards. Our goal is to meet monthly and aim to read a book within the 4-5 weeks since our last meet, we want people to feel included so we focus on different members selecting a read for the following month and we all take it in turns. We are Manchester based, and would love for people to come along and bring friends to enjoy the discussion and socilisation.We also keep an eye out on social media for any local activities or book signing events that might be taking place across the city or local vacinity. Meet Laura
Meet Laura, one of our founders here at One More Chapter Book Club. Laura met Natalie on a flight back from Paris, and Natalie was asking Laura what book she was reading. This struck a conversation between them and they both had a lot to say about the books they were currently reading and bonded over having similar tastes in literature.
Meet Natalie
Meet Natalie, another founder and the whole reason we have started this book club, purely through talking to strangers. She said on the plane that she wasn't very good at making friends, although Laura doesn't agree due to how friendly and kind Natalie was. One thing about Natalie is that despite having a love for books you can always guarantee that she has amazing nails.
